Crosspointe Family Church, A Church of the Nazarene


The special singers and speakers were scheduled.  The tent was pitched on the corner of Vine and Oak Streets.  It was advertised as a tent revival.  After the revival, the upstairs hall was rented at 206 South Main St.  It was 1923 and the Kendallville Church of the Nazarene had begun.  For several years the group worshipped in the hall above the town saloon.  In 1925 the property at 220 Williams Street was purchased and provided a basement church.  In 1947 the upper sanctuary was added.  Many times during the years the facilities were crowded and improved.  In September of 1988 the Kendallville Church of the Nazarene purchased seven and a half acers at 210 Brians place on the east side of town.  After several years of serving the community there, in 2004 the church purchased land at our current location on Drake Road just east of State Road 3.

 



Statement of Beliefs



The Articles of Faith for the Church of the Nazarene outline the elements of the Christian faith we consider the essentials.  These articles are summed up in the Agreed Statement of Belief for the Church of the Nazarene.

        We believe in one God-the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

        We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.

        We believe that man is born with fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually.

        We believe that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.

        We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ             is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.

        We believe that the Holy Spirit bears witness to new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.

        We believe that Our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgement will take place.
